Chelsea and Manchester United target Sami Khedira has increased his chances of a January move to the Premier League by claiming he is a ‘scapegoat’ at Real Madrid.

Khedira was the subject of a late deadline day bid from Manchester United but eventually remained at the Bernabeu.

Chelsea have also been linked with the German international, who was signed by Jose Mourinho for Real in 2010.

And Khedira is unhappy with his situation in Madrid, claiming that he is unfairly treated by the Spanish media.

“I’m not a Spanish player, I did not cost a lot of money and I am one of Mourinho’s disciples,” blasted Khedira.

“I started the season on the bench or in the stands. Even if I play well, I am the scapegoat and so will not be properly valued.

Khedira also criticised the sale of former team-mate Mesut Ozil to Arsenal, which has proved a controversial move in the Spanish capital.

The midfielder also suggested that Real are not performing like a unified team under new boss Carlo Ancelotti.

“A lot of players have lamented him [Ozil] leaving, including me,” Khedira added. “To lose a player with his qualities weakens the team, but we have other players of quality.

“We are not playing well. Most of the time we are over-complicating with too much individualism.

“I don’t know if it is just a matter of time or if there is another problem but we are still not playing like a team.”
