Siphiwe Tshabalala dedicated Kaizer Chiefs’ 4-0 thrashing of Ajax Cape Town in Polokwane on Saturday afternoon to the Amakhosi faithful.

Chiefs went into the match knowing they had to win to remain in the title race going into the final weekend. As it stands, they trial Ajax by three points, and are just a point behind second-placed Orlando Pirates, who drew 1-1 at Santos.

Tshabalala, who was outstanding on the day and netted two goals, was rightfully named Man of the Match, but he says it was a team effort that resulted in the Urban Warriors’ drubbing.

“It was a collective effort from the guys. We knew they were going to come at us through the middle and we closed them down well,” Shaba said, according to Kickoff.com.

“We told ourselves that we would go out there and enjoy ourselves. We owed it to the fans. The dream is almost over, but we are looking forward to the last game and we want to finish the season on a high.”
