Former South Africa international Elrio van Heerden has finally found a home at Golden Arrows following months of being clubless.

On October 28 Van Heerden, who has been capped 33 times at senior international level, stopped training with SuperSport United after negotiations hit a brick wall and later surfaced at ‘Abafana Bes’thende’.

Head coach Muhsin Ertugral was influential in Van Heerden joining the club, with their relationship going back to their days at Sivasspor in Turkey a couple of seasons ago.

Van Heerden last played for KVC Westerlo in Belgium, before returning to South Africa in the hopes of landing a contract in the Premier Soccer League.
