Khune has been out of the Bafana Bafana fold since September last year when he had to withdraw himself from the squad after an ankle injury.
The Kaizer Chiefs goalkeeper then failed to make Mashaba’s AFCON 23-man squad as well in January but now since his recovery Mashaba has opted for proven international experience.
The 64-year-old has handed four players their international debut as Thapelo Morena will play alongside Thulani Hlatshwayo, who has since been entrusted with the captain’s armband.
Free State Stars right-back Daniel Cardoso has also been given the nod with Thabo Matlaba playing left-back.
Cole Alexander will get his first cap in the heart of midfield with University of Pretoria’s striker Thabo Mnyamane given the role to run at Swaziland’s defence with the help of Lehlohonolo Majoro.
Mashaba has also given Kamohelo Mokotjo, Thulani Serero and Ayanda Patosi a chance to prove their worth with a return to the Bafana Bafana set-up.
Bafana Bafana and Swaziland are set to play on Wednesday, March 25 with the kick-off scheduled for 19:00.
