Former Bafana Bafana defender Matthew Booth is expected to sign a contract with Ajax Cape Town on Wednesday after agreeing on terms.

Booth has been without a team after being dumped by Mamelodi Sundowns during the off-season.

The Cape Town born defender met with Ajax recently and is expected to sign a one-year contract with an option to renew it the following year.

Booth’s agent Paul Mitchell confirms the player has gone through the content of the contract and will be travelling to Cape Town on Wednesday to put his signature on the dotted line.

“We have gone through the documents and Booth is happy with the contract,” Mitchell said, according to Kickoff.com.
