Arsenal will enter a bidding war with AC Milan and Juventus next month in a fight for hotly-rated Sao Paulo midfielder Casemiro.

The Gunners have been alerted to the 19-year-old’s availability after his club revealed they would be willing to start an auction for him at £10million.

The Brazilian, who despite his age has already been capped at senior international level, can fit into any number of positions across the middle with power a key part of his game.

The teenager played 12 games in a stuttering campaign for Tricolor Paulista, scoring once, but remains one of the most sought after players in his homeland.

Arsene Wenger has a history of doing business with Sao Paulo having lured the then Brazil Under 21 captain Denilson to north London in 2006.

That, though, hasn’t proved to be a hugely successful move, with the pedestrian-paced midfielder now back at his first club on loan.
