Fiorentina winger Alessio Cerci is on the brink of a loan move to Everton.

The 24-year-old has fallen out of favour at the Serie A club, with a deal reportedly in place to take him to Goodison Park.

According to reports in Italy, Cerci, a former target of high-flying Manchester City, has set his sights on a move to the Barclays Premier League, and Everton boss David Moyes is keen to wrap up a deal during the transfer window.

Cerci has started only 11 league games for La Viola this season, with manager Delio Rossi finding it difficult to accommodate him into his preferred 3-5-2 formation.

‘Cerci is a wide attacker with certain characteristics, so he has been penalised by our change to a 3-5-2 system,’ Rossi said.

‘If he gets the chance, it’s best he go express himself elsewhere, otherwise he’ll have to stay in Florence and try to adapt.’
