Adel Taarabt has landed in Italy as his loan move to AC Milan edges ever closer.

The Fulham winger – currently on loan from QPR – is set to make a major move to the Italian giants.

New boss Clarence Seedorf wants to bring the midfielder to the San Siro as he bids to resurrect Milan.

Taarabt, 24, will join until the end of the season with a view to making his move permanent in the summer.

‘I am honoured to be able to play at the best club in the world,” Taarabt told Milan Channel on Thursday morning.

‘I have spoken with Seedorf and we are both happy. I am an attacker and I like to play behind the strikers.

‘I do not know Balotelli personally, but I know who he is and I am pleased to be able to play with him.’

The ‘Moroccan Magician’, as he has been dubbed in the Italian press, was linked with a switch to Milan back in 2012, saying: ‘They’re no longer a part of the top clubs.

‘However, if I joined Milan then it would open up the doors for me to great clubs like Real Madrid and Barcelona.’

Taarabt has struggled to impress since joining Fulham last summer.

He has scored just one goal in 16 appearances this season after being relegated with west London neighbours QPR in 2013.

Taarabt was left out of the Fulham squad for Tuesday’s 2-0 defeat to Swansea and Rene Meulensteen confirmed there had been interest in the midfielder.

He said: ‘There’s been interest and we thought it’d be a wise decision to not include him. We’ll see how it develops over the next few days.’
