Erik-Lamela-TottenhamTottenham have opened talks with Inter Milan over the sale of winger Erik Lamela, according to reports.

The 23-year-old joined Spurs from Roma for £25million two years ago after scoring 15 Serie A goals in 2012/2013.

But the Argentine has failed to reproduce that form at White Hart Lane and has struggled to adapt to English football, scoring just two Premier League goals in two seasons.

Inter are prioritising adding a winger to their squad in the transfer market, and have been interested in Wolfsburg’s Croatian Ivan Perisic.

However that move now seems unlikely, as the Bundesliga side are locked in negotiations with Manchester City for Kevin De Bruyne and will be unwilling to part with both men.

And now Sky Italia claim Inter have made a move for Lamela, who Roberto Mancini is known to be a fan of, with provisional talks with Spurs taking place yesterday and more scheduled for today.

Inter’s Serie A rivals Juventus were also interested in the Tottenham winger, but they appear to be out of the running for the Argentine’s signature as they are on the verge of signing Juan Cuadrado on loan from Chelsea.
