Andrea-Ranocchia-Inter-MilanLiverpool are ready to hijack Everton’s bid to bring defender Andrea Ranocchia to Goodison Park.

The Toffees were linked with the Italian ace over the summer but failed to strike a deal.

Borussia Dortmund, Galatasaray, AC Milan, AS Roma and Tottenham have also been touted as interested parties in the 27-year-old.

But according to Gazzetta dello Sport, new Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp will fight to bring the player to Anfield.

Klopp reportedly wanted the player at former club Dortmund.

And with Liverpool struggling at centre-back, he could now be heading for Merseyside. Dejan Lovren and Martin Skrtel were ex-boss Brendan Rodgers’ first-choice defensive partnership.

However, they failed to shine and Klopp could look to spice things up with a change of personnel in January.

Ranocchia has been with Inter since a January 2011 move from Genoa. Before that move he was at first club Bari.
