gianluigi-donnarumma-ac-milanLiverpool have joined Manchester United and Chelsea in the race for AC Milan goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma, according to reports.

The youngster, who turns 17 this week, has made quite the impression in Italy this season.

Already hailed as the ‘next Gianluigi Buffon,’ Donnarumma became the youngest ever goalkeeper to start a match in Italian football aged 16 years and eight months, last October.

United and Chelsea were both linked with moves for the Italian last month, with the latter preparing a £30million bid.

Chelsea goalkeeper Marco Amelia also confirmed that the west London outfit were monitoring his progress.

And Italian publication Tuttosport claim the Reds, along with Barcelona and Ajax are also keen on his services.

Jurgen Klopp is reportedly on the lookout for a new goalkeeper in the summer, despite Simon Mignolet recently signing a new long-term deal.

Any of Donnarumma’s potential suitors have their work cut out if they want to sign him however, with Milan adamant he’s not for sale.

Milan’s president Silvio Berlusconi insists he is going nowhere.

“Donnarumma is 16 years old, he is admired by all and he won’t leave Milan, whatever offer might come in,” Berlusconi told Premium Sport.

“He will be the Milan goalkeeper for the next 20 years. He is a good lad, very strong physically, mentally and in terms of his character.

“I think he can be a Milan star of the future.”

Donnarumma is contracted with the Serie A side until 2018.
