Manchester United defender Patrice Evra appears to be closing in on a move to Juventus after flying to Italy for a medical last week.
Evra is out of contract in the summer and free to discuss terms with other clubs and the Frenchman now looks destined to follow Nemanja Vidic and Rio Ferdinand out of the club.Reports in Italy suggest the Frenchman was in Turin on Friday to discuss the finer details of his contract and undergo a medial with the Old Lady.
Evra – who looks set to spurn the opportunity to link up with Vidic at Inter – will instead be reunited with former United starlet Paul Pogba.
However, reports suggest that Evra is stalling over signing on the dotted line as he awaits the appointment of a new boss at Old Trafford.
While the 33-year-old is not thought to be part of Louis Van Gaal’s plans next season, Evra is keen to hold off and see how the situation plays out.Indeed, he could yet be persuaded to stay at Old Trafford if Van Gaal – or whoever else is appointed – pleads with him to stay.
That prospect looks increasingly unlikely however with a move to Juventus edging ever closer.
