Paul Pogba is set to perform a dramatic u-turn and commit his future to Manchester United by snubbing a lucrative offer from Italian giants Juventus.

The news will come as a massive boost for boss Sir Alex Ferguson, who had feared losing one of the club’s best young players this summer.

Having missed United’s Europa League defeats to Ajax and Athletic Bilbao it was thought Pogba’s spell at Old Trafford was heading for an early finish.

But the 18-year-old was back in the squad during Sunday’s 2-0 Barclays Premier League win over West Brom, in which he came on as a 72nd minute substitute.

Ferguson made a case for the midfielder to stay after the game but admitted the youngster was unsure, saying: ‘The boy is still trying to make his mind up but he knows where he should be.’

Pogba joined United from Le Havre in 2009 and it is believed United are now hopeful of seeing the highly-rated French youngster put pen to paper on a new long-term deal.
