Bafana Bafana coach Pitso Mosimane was pleased with the 2-0 win over Kenya in the international friendly last night, but admits there is still a big “room for improvement”.

‘Jingles’ was speaking in Rustenburg after Bafana made hard work of their victory. The match was in preparation for next month’s Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Egypt and Mosimane confessed that his side must play better than they did against Kenya to overcome the Pharaohs.

“It is encouraging because it is a good win, but obviously there is some room for improvement because we had lots of chances in the box and we didn’t take them all. We will need more than this against Egypt,” he said at the post match conference.

He continued, “I’m happy Davide (Somma) scored, but I think he could have scored more,” Mosimane said.

Bafana fluffed most, if not all, of their set pieces and this is another area, which is a big concern for Mosimane, but he says the players must make an effort to get this right at club level as there is not sufficient time to work on it when Bafana are in camp.

“How can I improve the free kicks in a few days I have with the team? That must be done at club level… there is no way I can improve that,” he added.
